Pando Populous takes its name from the largest and oldest organism on the planet — a giant quaking aspen tree, spread over more than a hundred acres, thousands of years old, connected by a single root system.

Their philosophy developed as a careful and systematic evolution of this one idea — To be is to be in ecological relationship with everything else.

Pando Populus is different in scale and scope. Rather than focus on isolated fixes, their ambition is to serve as a forum from which to challenge basic assumptions of the modern industrial world and propose ecological alternatives.

Alfred North Whitehead put it this way:

Everything is to be understood in terms of the way it is interwoven with the rest of the universe.
