Michael T. Lewis is executive director of the Canadian Centre for Community Renewal and the editor of its journal, i-4 (“inspire, innovate, incite, invent”). He is well known in Canada and internationally as a practitioner, author, educator, and leader in the field of community economic development and the social economy. He has built and advised a wide range of businesses, organizations, and governments all over Canada and internationally, linking practice with policy. He is also leader of the BALTA Social Economy Research Alliance, a consortium in British Columbia and Alberta that conducts research relevant to strengthening the social economy in the region.
