Carla Santos Skandier is manager of the Climate and Energy Program at The Democracy Collaborative. Her work focuses on addressing climate change through systemic solutions. She has a background in international environmental law, climate change, renewable energy, and sustainable development, particularly in developing countries as Brazil and China. She joined The Democracy Collaborative as a research associate with The Next System Project in 2015. She is a Brazilian attorney and holds a LL.M. in Energy Law and Policy and a Certificate in Climate Law from Vermont Law School. During her time as a Global Energy Fellow at the Institute for Energy and the Environment, she worked with Vermont communities as they aimed to develop renewable energy projects to provide community self-sufficiency and economic development.
